"We were born in Liverpool but grew up in Hamburg," reflected John Lennon, encapsulating the essence of this documentary. Exploring the Beatles' journey to superstardom, it delves into their formative years in Hamburg during the early 1960s. Before achieving global recognition, the band—then the Quarrymen—honed their craft in the city's vibrant nightlife, a gritty hub of vice and intrigue. At just 17, George Harrison was among the young musicians navigating this chaotic landscape. By their final trip to Germany in 1966, the Beatles had transformed into a cultural phenomenon, forever shaping music history.
