PEN15 captures the raw, awkward essence of middle school life through the eyes of Maya Erskine and Anna Konkle, who portray their thirteen-year-old selves in the year 2000. As outcasts navigating the trials of adolescence, they find joy and heartbreak in equal measure. The duo interacts with real teenagers, delivering a heartfelt and humorous exploration of friendships, crushes, and the unpredictable nature of growing up, where a single moment can shift from fantastic to disastrous with the flick of a gel pen.
