Exploring the complex dynamics of the affluent yet troubled Getty family, Trust delves into their intricate saga. Set against the backdrop of the 1970s, the narrative kicks off with the shocking abduction of John Paul Getty III, a young heir to the vast Getty oil empire, orchestrated by the Italian mafia in Rome. Initially envisioned as a multi-season epic covering the family's history throughout the twentieth century, the series captures the interplay of wealth, power, and family strife as it navigates this pivotal moment in their legacy.
