Degrassi Junior High, a Canadian teen drama that aired from 1987 to 1989, delves into the lives of students at a fictional middle school, tackling hard-hitting issues like drug abuse, teenage pregnancy, and racism. Praised for its authentic and compassionate depiction of adolescent struggles, the show features a largely non-professional cast, enhancing its realism. Several actors, including Stacie Mistysyn and Neil Hope, reprised roles from The Kids of Degrassi Street, though their characters and backgrounds were reimagined. Filmed at the now-closed Vincent Massey Public School in Ontario, it laid the groundwork for future Degrassi installments.
