Pax, a typical 12-year-old navigating life in the early 2000s, struggles with the pressure of his refugee parents' expectations after they arrived in New Zealand during the late '80s. While they prioritize academic success, Pax yearns for acceptance among his peers. Everything shifts dramatically with a significant global event, forcing him to confront his identity and the struggles of belonging in a new world. As he grapples with these challenges, Pax's journey reflects the complexities of youth, culture, and the quest for connection.
