Brother Cadfael, a twelfth-century Anglo-Welsh monk, navigates life at Shrewsbury Abbey as a skilled herbalist. Once a crusader disillusioned by romance, he finds purpose in unraveling mysteries. Frequently drawn into local investigations, Cadfael employs his keen intellect and knowledge of herbs to solve murders and other crimes in the picturesque borderlands of Shropshire, where England meets Wales. His unique perspective and past experiences make him an invaluable asset in a world rife with intrigue and deception.
