Monroe follows a brilliant yet flawed neurosurgeon whose genius often overshadows his personal shortcomings. Each episode presents a gripping life-or-death scenario, exploring how serious injuries and illnesses impact not just patients, but everyone in the hospital, from staff to family members. As these individuals navigate intense emotions over a few days, they form a dysfunctional yet united family, driven by shared hopes, fears, and grief. Central to the narrative is Monroe, his trainees, his anesthetist, and his sharp-witted heart surgeon colleague, Jenny Bremner, whose disdain for his arrogance adds tension. The show balances heightened emotional stakes with dark humor amidst the pressures of modern surgery.
