Set in the fictional town of Matlock, Victoria, this Australian police drama aired on the 0-10 Network from 1970 to 1975, produced by Crawford Productions. Aimed at competing with established shows like Homicide and Division 4, Matlock Police offered a fresh perspective by focusing on rural life. Richly detailed, the series featured a comprehensive guide to the town's geography, amenities, and social dynamics. It explored the area's vibrant history, including its Indigenous heritage, the impact of the gold rush, the presence of a notorious bushranger, and an influential local patriarch, though it notably lacked a beach.
