Bonekickers, a BBC drama that premiered on July 8, 2008, follows a team of archaeologists at the fictional Wessex University. Crafted by Matthew Graham and Ashley Pharoah, known for Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes, the show blends crime procedural elements with archaeological adventure, as aptly described by Adrian Lester—“CSI meets Indiana Jones.” The six-episode run delves into science, conspiracy theories, and a central mystery. Filming predominantly took place in Bath, Somerset, capturing stunning locations like the University of Bath and Brean Down Fort. Unfortunately, the series was canceled after its first season.
