Dr. Finlay's Casebook aired on the BBC from 1962 to 1971, drawing inspiration from A. J. Cronin's novella, ‘Country Doctor’. Set in the late 1920s, the series follows the lives and challenges of a general medical practice in the fictional Scottish town of Tannochbrae. With Cronin as the main writer for its initial years, the show intricately weaves medical cases with the personal dynamics of its characters, offering a compelling glimpse into the past and the evolving practice of medicine in a small community.
