In the rugged Yorkshire countryside of the eighteenth century, as the industrial revolution looms, David Hartley rallies a motley crew of weavers and farmhands. Together, they forge a daring criminal scheme—a massive fraud designed to upend the economy and shake Britain to its core. Their enterprise grows into the most audacious con the nation has ever seen.
