David and Jack Meredith are two brothers raised in a working-class household in Melbourne during the interwar period. Jack embodies the quintessential Aussie fighter, driven by his deep desire to serve his country. In contrast, David, the more driven and intricate sibling, charts a course toward success that ultimately distances him from his roots and homeland.
