Kath & Kim

Kath & Kim showcases the hilariously dysfunctional dynamic between a suburban mother and her self-absorbed daughter. Created and written by Jane Turner and Gina Riley, who portray the titular roles, the series features colorful characters, including cheerful Kath Day-Knight, her flamboyant second husband Kel Knight, Kim's estranged spouse Brett, and her lonely friend Sharon. Set in the fictional Fountain Lakes, Melbourne, the show began as a skit on Fast Forward before evolving into a full series that premiered in 2002. With critical acclaim, including Logie Awards, it became a pop culture staple in Australia and developed a loyal international following, inspiring a U.S. adaptation.
