20 Cigarettes unfolds the intense journey of a 28-year-old anarchist and anti-war activist, inspired by director Aureliano Amadei's own experiences in Iraq. When he is invited to serve as the assistant director on a film focusing on Italy's military peace mission, he seizes the opportunity. As he navigates the complexities of war and artistic expression, he confronts his own beliefs and the stark realities of conflict. The narrative artfully blends personal discovery with the broader themes of activism and the impact of war on both individuals and society.
