Dragon Girls offers an intimate glimpse into the lives of three young Chinese girls as they pursue their dreams of becoming Kung Fu fighters at China’s largest martial arts academy. Separated from their families, these girls navigate the intense environment of 26,000 trainees, where conformity is expected and individuality often stifled. While they are molded into disciplined fighters, the documentary reveals the personal hopes and aspirations that lie beneath their rigorous training. This poignant exploration highlights the harsh realities of a competitive system that prioritizes strength and conformity over the unique spirit of each child.
