Max Schmeling chronicles the life of the German boxing icon who rose to prominence in the 1930s as the World Heavyweight Champion. His victory brought him national acclaim, but his subsequent defeat to Joe Louis—a black fighter—turned him into a target for the Nazi regime. Rather than being celebrated, Schmeling faced hostility and was dispatched to the front lines, where authorities hoped he would meet his demise. The film explores themes of heroism, prejudice, and survival against a backdrop of political turmoil and personal struggle.
