Private's Progress

Stanley Windrush’s university studies come to an abrupt halt when he’s drafted near the war's conclusion. Though he lacks the qualities of a leader, he forms a clever alliance with Private Percival Cox, a master of navigating the British Army’s chaotic landscape. Meanwhile, Stanley's brigadier uncle at the War Office appears to have ulterior motives, drawing both men into covert operations behind enemy lines. As they grapple with military absurdities and moral ambiguities, their escapades highlight both the farce of war and the bonds formed in unexpected circumstances.
