Night Passage (2020)

Night Passage explores profound themes of friendship and mortality through a visually stunning journey. Inspired by Miyazawa Kenji's renowned novel, Milky Way Railroad, the narrative follows a young woman, her best friend, and a small boy as they navigate a realm filled with surreal experiences. Their adventure unfolds on a night train, transporting them through a mystical landscape of "awakened dreams." The filmmaker artfully captures each moment, presenting a compelling visual tapestry that unfolds through rhythmic sequences, all viewed from the train's window, creating an enchanting and reflective atmosphere.
