Eighth graders are thrown into turmoil when Pierre Anthon boldly asserts that life is meaningless, retreating into a tree to prove his point. His classmates struggle with this declaration, prompting them to assemble a “heap of meaning” filled with their most cherished possessions, hoping to change his mind. As they delve into the depths of their beliefs and values, the attempt spirals into a haunting exploration of what truly holds significance. This provocative narrative challenges the very essence of purpose and connection among youth in a world grappling with existential doubts.
