Marion Hastings arrives back at her father's cattle ranch in western Queensland after a fifteen-year absence in Europe. Her return is met with cold hostility from both her father's foreman, Dick Drake, and neighboring rancher Don Lawton. As Marion navigates the tensions on the ranch, she must confront the strained relationships and unresolved issues of her past while striving to reclaim her place in a world that seems to have moved on without her. The clash of personalities sets the stage for a gripping exploration of family and rivalry in the rugged Australian landscape.
