Set twenty years after an unusual partnership in Pol Pot's Cambodia, a French ethnologist reunites with a former Khmer Rouge official whose past catches up with him following his arrest for crimes against humanity. As they navigate the complex interplay of their shared history and the weight of accountability, deep-seated issues of guilt, redemption, and the haunting legacy of war resurface. Their encounter becomes a poignant exploration of friendship and the moral dilemmas faced in the aftermath of a brutal regime.
