First We Eat

In a bold experiment in Yukon, a filmmaker challenges her family's reliance on store-bought groceries by committing to a year of self-sufficiency through farming, fishing, and foraging. The journey is complicated by the harsh realities of extreme cold, no caffeine, and the resistance of three skeptical teenagers. As the family navigates the challenges of food security, they confront both the physical and emotional toll of their choices, leading to unexpected lessons about sustainability and resilience in the face of adversity.
