To Alter the Image

In 1981, after a leftist government took power, French television tapped Godard to create a film centered on the concept of change. However, much like in Lettre à Freddy Buache, this project grapples with the challenge of fulfilling the brief. Godard explores the notion that true transformation resides not within the images themselves, but rather in the spaces and silences that exist between them. Through this innovative approach, he delves into the complexities of perception and representation, ultimately questioning the very nature of visual storytelling.
