On a fateful night in March 1964, the shocking murder of Kitty Genovese unfolds in Queens, New York, as 37 witnesses look on without intervening or alerting authorities. The narrative delves into the lives of several neighbors, exploring the societal pressures and personal dilemmas that contributed to their chilling inaction. Set against a backdrop of racial tension, the Civil Rights Movement, and shifting political landscapes, director Puk Grasten's debut film artfully examines the collective indifference of a community, ultimately questioning what it means to be a bystander in a moment that symbolizes America's loss of innocence.
