Nando, a young horse wrangler from a quaint Mexican village, tragically takes his own life after a fallout with his father. Caballerango explores how this heartbreaking loss impacts his family and the community, revealing the deep scars left behind. As each person recounts their memories of Nando, the film highlights the struggle between traditional lifestyles and the encroaching influence of modernity, leading to identity crises among the youth. With a contemplative and observational approach, sweeping shots of the landscape and the two white horses—Nando's last companions—evoke a haunting, almost mystical connection to his story.
