Johnny Moped offers a poignant and humorous glimpse into one of Britain's overlooked musical gems. Formed in 1974 by school friends from Croydon, the band, led by the enigmatic Paul Halford—better known as Johnny Moped—burst onto the London punk scene by 1977. Although they boasted notable members like Chrissie Hynde and Captain Sensible, mainstream success eluded them, relegating Johnny Moped to the status of punk's great lost band. Their captivating story, paired with innovative music from the era, is a compelling narrative that deserves a renewed spotlight.
