Contras' City

Set against the vibrant backdrop of Dakar, Senegal, this fictional documentary unfolds through dialogues between Senegalese director Djibril Diop Mambéty and French woman Inge Hirschnitz. As they journey through the city in a charming horse-drawn wagon, viewers are treated to a tapestry of contrasts: a small African community gathered outside a church, Muslims engaged in prayer on the street, and the striking Rococo government architecture alongside humble craftsman shops near the bustling market. Each scene captures the rich cultural diversity and dynamic life of the Senegalese capital.
