We Were Once Kids

Set in the early nineties, a diverse group of teens escapes their troubled homes to explore the harsh realities of New York City. Bonded by their passion for skateboarding, they create a tight-knit community that thrives amid adversity. Their experiences and unconventional lifestyle ultimately serve as the inspiration for "Kids," a daring and influential film directed by Larry Clark, which made waves upon its release in 1995. The story captures the raw essence of youth and resilience before the city's dramatic gentrification transformed its landscape.
