Same Sex America

Spring 2004 marked a pivotal moment for Massachusetts as it fought for the legalization of same-sex marriage. This documentary intimately chronicles the experiences of several local couples and their families during the tense months leading to this landmark event in LGBTQ+ history, culminating in their joyous weddings. The narrative is enriched with interviews from vocal opponents of the movement, whose efforts ultimately prove futile. Premiering at the Independent Film Festival of Boston in April 2005, the film arrives just a month shy of the one-year anniversary of the groundbreaking decision.
