At the Charenton Asylum, the infamous Marquis de Sade orchestrates a theatrical production that reenacts the assassination of revolutionary figure Jean Paul Marat, enlisting the institution's patients as his cast. This unique adaptation draws inspiration from Peter Weiss's 1963 play, "The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum of Charenton Under the Direction of the Marquis de Sade." The performance blurs the lines between sanity and madness, inviting audiences to reflect on the nature of revolution and the human condition.
