A man condemned for rape is set to die, and the public calls it justice. The case is closed, the world at peace. But on the night before his execution, a private word with his lawyer uncovers a devastating possibility: he might be innocent. Unwilling to let the truth perish, the attorney digs back in—and one fragile clue unravels into something far more sinister. Beneath the conviction and a quiet, convenient suicide hides an intricate web of conspiracy. The closer the truth gets, the more lethal the question becomes: Who actually committed the crime?
