In the 1997 film "Volcano," a serene morning in Los Angeles is abruptly disrupted by a powerful earthquake that creates a deep crack in the earth’s surface. This geological upheaval triggers the emergence of lava from beneath the La Brea Tar Pits, leading to the formation of a volcano. The city’s emergency management director, alongside a geologist, is thrust into a race against time to mobilize all available resources and devise a plan to prevent the looming disaster from engulfing the city.
