Set in 1970s Spain, A Forbidden Orange explores the cultural and political landscape under Francisco Franco's oppressive regime. Stanley Kubrick's iconic film, A Clockwork Orange, initially deemed too controversial, faced a ban despite its acclaim. Remarkably, it found a platform at the 20th Seminci, the Valladolid Film Festival, where it screened uncensored on April 24, 1975. This event marked a significant moment in cinema history, raising questions about artistic freedom and the impact of censorship during a turbulent era in Spanish history. How did this groundbreaking screening come to be?
