Welsh journalist Gareth Jones embarks on a perilous journey to Ukraine in 1933, where he witnesses the devastating impact of a devastating famine. As he navigates the countryside, Jones encounters agents of the Soviet secret police, intent on suppressing any reports about the unfolding disaster. The catastrophic results of Stalin’s brutal agricultural collectivization policy reveal a grim reality, resembling mass murder. Despite the dangers, Jones is determined to expose the truth and shed light on the suffering that has gripped the nation.
