Rowf and Snitter, two dogs who have fled a cruel animal research facility, face a harrowing journey through the wilderness. As they navigate the countryside, their desire for freedom is overshadowed by relentless hunters and military forces, spurred by fears that they might be carriers of the bubonic plague. The bond between the two canines deepens as they confront both the harsh realities of survival and the cruelty of humans. Their story explores themes of loyalty, fear, and the instinctual drive for freedom in a world that sees them as mere experiments.
