The Way to Mandalay chronicles the life of one of Denmark's most celebrated and cherished musicians. The film follows Mogenson from boyhood through adulthood, tracing a career that lasted over two decades—beginning with triumph in a popular vocal group and later flourishing as a solo artist. For a long stretch, John Mogensen remains perpetually dissatisfied, uncertain about what he genuinely loves and would sacrifice everything for. Is it the music, the stage, the fame, or his family?
