Outing

Sven, a 30-year-old articulate man with a background in archaeology, grapples with a troubling sexual attraction to children since adolescence. Committed to therapy, he strives to resist his urges and avoid harming anyone. Seeking connection and self-protection, Sven takes the brave step of stepping into the public eye, a move fraught with risk. Documentarians Sebastian Meise and Thomas Rieder follow his journey over several years, exploring the complexities of guilt, societal judgment, and the moral dilemmas surrounding his existence. The film challenges viewers to consider the boundaries of empathy and the place of individuals like Sven in society.
