Filmmakers James Franco and Travis Mathews delve into the uncharted 40 minutes cut from "Cruising," using it as a springboard for a deeper examination of sexual and artistic liberation. Their project blends fiction and documentary, challenging societal norms while offering a provocative commentary on desire and identity. By intertwining interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and re-enactments, they invite audiences to reflect on the boundaries of sexuality and the creative process, ultimately celebrating the complexity of human expression and the often-controversial landscape of queer cinema.
