Geremia, a bitter and miserly tailor-turned-moneylender, resides alone with his disdainful, bedridden mother in a rundown home. His obsession with wealth drives him to meddle in others’ lives, masquerading as the "family friend." When a man requests funds for his daughter Rosalba's wedding, Geremia is instantly captivated by the enchanting young woman. This infatuation spirals into a twisted "beauty and the beast" dynamic, as he navigates his feelings while remaining ensnared by his greed and loneliness. The film explores themes of obsession, love, and the dark side of human connection.
