Set against the backdrop of Stalin's regime, this British comedy cleverly mocks the dynamics of absolute power within his inner circle. Amid rampant corruption and deep-seated paranoia, a few loyalists cling to their Bolshevik ideals, even as the situation deteriorates. The film culminates in a poignant moment before a firing squad, where a steadfast Bolshevik declares, "Even in the best democracy, errors are being made!" This biting satire explores the absurdities of political loyalty and the absurdities of power, delivering both humor and a sharp critique of totalitarianism.
