Philip, an American author in self-imposed exile in London, finds solace in the company of women who share their stories with him. His English mistress frequently visits, providing companionship in his secluded studio. Memories of a student he once adored linger from a past life, while a former lover now resides in a New York hospital, adding layers of emotional complexity to his existence. As he navigates these relationships, Philip grapples with themes of love, loss, and the haunting echoes of his past.
