Tony Lip, a bouncer in 1962, takes on the role of driver for acclaimed pianist Don Shirley during a concert tour across the segregated Deep South. As they navigate the challenges posed by racial discrimination, including the need for alternative lodging and dining options outlined in The Negro Motorist Green Book, an unlikely friendship forms. Their journey not only highlights the stark realities of the era but also showcases how two men from vastly different backgrounds can connect and grow through shared experiences, ultimately challenging societal norms and prejudices.
