Inspired by Ingmar Bergman's classic, a delightful entanglement of romantic affairs unfolds around actress Desirée Armfeldt. Caught in a whirlwind of emotions, she navigates the affections of lawyer Fredrik Egerman and the persistent Count Carl-Magnus Malcolm. When Desirée's theatrical production stops in Fredrik's town, old flames reignite, complicating their lives further. The story explores the intricate dance of love, longing, and the bittersweet nature of relationships, all set against a charming backdrop of music and nostalgia.
