Haunted by a troubled childhood marked by paternal abuse, a young man envisions himself as Adolf Hitler while fantasizing about vengeance. Released by Christoph Schlingensief, this provocative film eschews a traditional narrative flow, challenging the prevailing discourse among right-leaning German thinkers who insisted on reconciling the nation’s history with Nazism. Schlingensief boldly counters this perspective, presenting a raw exploration of trauma and identity. His work emerges as a haunting commentary on the complexities of Germany's past and the scars it leaves on the present.
