A self-absorbed filmmaker convinces a family in Phoenix to allow him and his crew to document their ordinary lives, emulating the groundbreaking PBS series "An American Family." His intrusive approach leads to unexpected tensions and revelations as the family grapples with their newfound reality under the camera's gaze. As their personal struggles unfold, the filmmaker's obsession with authenticity blurs the lines between art and life, challenging both the subjects and the audience to reflect on the impact of surveillance in everyday existence.
