The Marshal's Two Executions

Two perspectives on the execution of Romanian dictator Ion Antonescu clash in this thought-provoking film. One viewpoint is captured through silent footage from 1946, filmed by Ovidiu Gologan, which presents a raw and unfiltered account of the event. In contrast, scenes from a biographical film made by director Sergiu Nicolaescu in the 1990s offer a dramatized interpretation. These contrasting viewpoints invite the audience to reflect on the nature of historical representation and the complexities surrounding Antonescu's legacy.
