Peter Bichsel, the quintessential Swiss intellectual, embodies the essence of German Swiss culture. Despite his popularity, the true depth of his character remains elusive. A self-proclaimed Paris expert, he paradoxically has never set foot in the city. His journey unfolds in the film as he explores room 202 at the Gare de l'Est hotel, a symbolic space that encapsulates his quest for understanding. However, his exploration remains confined to this single room, raising questions about identity, perception, and the essence of experience in a modern world.
