Gozo/Gozar

Set against a backdrop of economic disparity and rampant hunger, Gozo/Gozar explores the idea of joy as a form of defiance. It challenges traditional portrayals often seen in American cinema, opting instead to portray life itself as a testament to resistance against oppressive politics. Through its characters' pursuit of pleasure and free thought, the film highlights the significance of enjoyment not just as a personal escape, but as an act of rebellion against a world fraught with injustice. The narrative invites viewers to reconsider the power of joy in the face of adversity.
