Amid the icy landscapes of Admiralty Island in Alaska, summer provides a fleeting moment of warmth. The island's permanent inhabitants, including bears and seals, flock to the bountiful salmon-rich rivers for nourishment. Concurrently, the season attracts an influx of migratory species, from majestic humpback whales to a staggering 140 million seabirds, representing nearly half of the bird population in the Northern Hemisphere. This brief interlude of life showcases the remarkable interconnectedness of the region's wildlife and the seasonal dance between residents and travelers.
