General Leslie Groves, a no-nonsense military leader, is tasked with the daunting responsibility of developing the atomic bomb during World War II. He appoints J. Robert Oppenheimer as the principal scientist for this secretive project, leading to intense disagreements between the two. Their contrasting approaches create tension, yet both men remain committed to their goal. Ultimately, they forge ahead to create two distinct bomb designs: the powerful "Fat Man" and the lighter, more efficient "Little Boy," setting the stage for a pivotal moment in history.
